Choose the Best Pitcher’s Screen for Your Baseball or Softball Team

Need a new pitcher’s safety net? The Collegiate Pitchers L Screen with #60 net is the preferred choice of coaches, facility managers, parents and players across the United States. Suitable for all levels of play, it safeguards pitchers from irregular shots and hard-hit balls. The hip saver bar option offers extra protection for players and enhances net service life. Moreover, you can use it both with pitching machines and for live-arm delivery.

Most trainers will not host practice sessions without this protective screen in place. Many schools and little leagues have made it mandatory too. The high performance and durability of the Collegiate series account for their high demand. Here is an overview of what is available in our store.

A Guide to Our Popular Collegiate Screens

  • Pitcher’s L Screen: The heavy-duty galvanized steel frame has a lock bolt system with a treated nylon pillowcase style net that slips over easily and attaches at the bottom with the lacing cord provided.
  •

  • Rib-Saver L Screen: The additional rib saver bar provides an extra area of protection to exposed ribs during the pitcher’s follow-through and increases net service life.
  •

  • Scrimmage L Screen: This is great for opening up the middle of the field or for short toss drills in cages during coach pitch scrimmages.
  •

  • Front-Toss: This multi-purpose softball screen can be used for a variety of front toss drills, on-field pitcher’s screen, or used to protect ball girls. The strong galvanized steel frame has durable wrap-around leg bracing and a lock-bolt system.
  •

  • Softball Pitcher’s Screens: Can be used with live pitching, jugs or ATEC softball machines.  The frame and net construction is similar to our other heavy-duty L screens.

Today, coaches consider the L-screen to be one of the most important pieces of equipment on the field. A lower risk of injury allows your pitchers and batters to focus on form and technique. From front toss to flip drills, you can comfortably work with your team on refining hand-eye coordination and stroke for better quality practice sessions.

Tip: While the #36 nylon net is more economical, we recommend heavy duty #60 nylon netting for enhanced protection and durability. If you use a pitching machine, look for a screen with a cut out. For convenient transportation on and off the field, consider purchasing the wheel kit package.
