Protect Your Playing Field with Quality Turf Mats

Are you facing the ongoing challenge of trying to keep up with the cost of field maintenance during baseball season? Invest in quality field coverings for areas that see a lot of wear. They provide a similar playing surface to natural grass and help you maintain a well-groomed look with minimal effort. The protective covers also work like a padding to reduce the ricochet of the ball and create safer playing conditions. The pits caused by constant hitting of the ball and pivoting of cleats (as on natural grass) which are a tripping hazard, are also eliminated.

Available in two types, polyethylene (poly) turf is an economical alternative to nylon. However, if you are looking for durability, we recommend choosing the nylon one. Poly is a softer material with a lower abrasion resistance than nylon.

Types of Protective Covers for Your Field

Artificial matting comes in different shapes and sizes to meet your specific needs and budget. Protecting important areas like the batter’s box, pitching area and home plate will help you reduce field maintenance costs.

  • Home plate:  A heavy-duty cover with 5mm foam padding is a worthwhile investment for one of the most-used areas of your playing field. Choose our 6’x12’ size with the batter’s box area and home plate marked in permanent white lines; it is the most popular choice. We offer two colors—green and red clay.

  • Batter’s box: Used on the field and in batting cages, this sturdy spike-resistant type (36 oz. turf pile) has a 5 mm layer of foam padding for durability. Our 4’x6’ ones are a popular choice for baseball and the 3’x7’ for softball.

  • Pitching mat: Specially designed to protect your pitching mound, this is an effective training tool for throwing and batting practice in an indoor facility or even in your backyard. Made of spike-proof athletic turf (36 oz. pile with 5 mm foam padding), it will last you for many seasons.

  • On-Deck Circles: These protective mats prevent damage from players’ spikes to the grassy area between the home plate and the dugout (where on-deck batters stand and warm up). They are available in two sizes (4’ and 6’ diameter). The 4’ diameter comes in green only while the 6’ diameter comes in a variety of colors such as clay, navy, green, and several other options. Coaches also use them as fungo circles to conduct drills.
